Should students be allowed to create content for their class?

Josh and Matt have been creating video content for their World History B class

As a teacher, I feel I know exactly what my students should be learning and how exactly they should be learning it. Is this so? Is the content in an outdated textbook, website or magazine article still the best way for your students to learn?

What happens when you allow students to create and/or improve the digital content on your class website?

What type of content should they be able to create? Could that help students retain the content?

Please share your questions and experiences.
